So, where have we got to so far?
We have completed the quite long process of registering as a charity – you can check out our constitution on the Charity page, and we are setting up this website.
We have also identified a number of experts to take part in our stakeholders panel – this includes teachers and museum curators, as well as subject experts on the topic of the British Cotton industry and the slave trade. This panel will input into the development of the muesum exhibits.
We have also enlisted the participation of two primary and two secondary schools in Tameside, Greater Manchester. Staff and children in these schools will also help us to develop the materials, and test them out.
Next steps will be to complete a survey with teachers in the schools, and to set up the launch meeting of our stakeholder panel.
