One of the key activities we are carrying out is to identify potential sources for funding. We hope to make an application to the National Archives for a grant, and their criteria require that a community group should partner with a GLAM organisation.

GLAM is an acronym for galleries, libraries, archives, and museums, and it refers to cultural institutions with a mission to provide access to knowledge. The idea is that they can offer a small organisation guidance and expertise.

In order to take this forward three of our trustees (Agnes Fough, Barbara Austin and Bruce Levitan) held a meeting on 24 August 2026 with two members of our Steering Group (Antonia Canal and Dr. Matthew Stallard) to discuss the opportunities, risks and practical steps.

The outcome was to identify three potential GLAM organisations we could approach, with useful advice from our Steering Group experts on how we should conduct our meetings.
